Sirianni: Eagles players asked me to be more animated
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was visibly more vocal on the sideline during Sunday's 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns.
One of the most emotional NFL coaches, Sirianni explained his behavior postgame by saying that some of his players asked him during their bye week to be more animated again, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic.
"We need you back, Nick," Sirianni said he heard from Eagles players.
He added: "When I'm operating and having fun, that breeds to the rest of the football team."
Cameras even showed the Eagles head coach exchanging words with some Philadelphia home fans after his team secured the victory.
"Just excited," Sirianni said about the now-viral exchange, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Sirianni also chirped at Browns defensive backs earlier in the contest, notes Kubena.
Philadelphia returned to the win column in Week 6 after losing 33-16 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two weeks ago. The Eagles - who have yet to win consecutive games this season - moved to 3-2 by beating Cleveland in a matchup marked by the returns of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The star receivers were previously sidelined with injuries.
Despite never trailing against the Browns on Sunday, Eagles fans booed the team during the game - and Sirianni expressed his displeasure.
"We hear 'em when they boo," he said, according to Eagles Nation. "We don't necessarily like it, I don't think it's productive for anybody. But when they cheer for us, we love it."
The Eagles visit the New York Giants in Week 7.
