Trade chips

Cooper Kupp, WR

The Rams say they expect Kupp to stay with the team, but there's no doubt he'd be the biggest catch in this year's trade market. The former Offensive Player of the Year has battled injuries but would instantly improve any offense gunning for a championship. Look at Week 1 for a reminder of how good a healthy Kupp can be, as he posted 14 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Maxx Crosby, DE

Mark Davis said a Crosby trade isn't happening. But what if someone makes him an offer he can't refuse? A few teams, such as the Lions, are desperately looking for an edge rusher. While Crosby is a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, Las Vegas would get a massive haul for the three-time Pro Bowler.

Matthew Stafford, QB

This one sounds like a long shot, especially after Thursday's win, but if the Rams want to shop Kupp, what's stopping them from dealing Stafford, too? The now 36-year-old is in his twilight years but should have enough juice left in the tank for one final run with a contender.

Diontae Johnson, WR

Only acquired by Carolina this past offseason, the Panthers aren't utilizing Johnson's talents to the fullest potential in their offense. His route running and yards-after-the-catch ability make him a valuable asset. Plus, Johnson's deal expires after this season, likely reducing his value.

Jeffery Simmons, DT

The Titans reportedly told interested clubs that a Simmons trade isn't happening. Simmons, still only 27 years old and under contract through 2027, would land Tennessee a massive haul that could jumpstart its rebuild after a 1-7 start.

Budda Baker, S

Baker will be a free agent after this campaign. If the Cardinals think they won't be able to match his asking price, perhaps it's worth getting assets in return now rather than letting him walk. Still only 28 years old, Baker is a versatile safety who could be an intriguing piece to acquire and sign to a long-term deal.

Mike Williams, WR

The Jets are rumored to be shopping Williams, and he has a handful of suitors interested. Williams' recovery from a torn ACL last season has been slow in 2024, but he's a cheap rental who could make his big, physical presence felt in a new environment.

Bryce Young, QB

The Panthers likely don't want to sell low after investing a first overall pick in Young less than two years ago. However, Young may never find his mojo in Carolina, and perhaps there's a front office out there that believes it can unlock the traits that made the Alabama product the top draft selection in 2023.

Jonathan Jones, CB

The Patriots' season is already well into an unrecoverable tailspin. The next logical step for the franchise is to exchange its veteran pieces for draft capital. Jones has started 64 games for New England over his career. With the 31-year-old's contract expiring after this season, the Pats might be wise to do one of their veterans a solid in a miserable campaign.

Travis Etienne, RB

A team eyeing a running back might be tempted to acquire Etienne due to his dual-threat ability as a rusher and receiving threat despite his down year. He's averaging career lows in rushing yards (38.3) and receiving yards per game (15.2) and isn't even Jacksonville's leading rusher following Tank Bigsby's emergence.

Za'Darius Smith, DE

The Amari Cooper trade signaled the Browns are open to selling, which means Smith should also be on the way out. The 32-year-old has registered five sacks this season, the most on the team. Smith could be a key addition to a club looking for short-term help off the edge.

Andre Cisco, S

Cisco has developed into a quality starter, recording eight interceptions over his past three seasons. His rookie contract ends after this campaign, and the Jaguars appear to be heading toward sweeping changes. Cisco could be one of their many players on the move.

Greg Newsome, CB

Trading Newsome should fetch Cleveland a decent return considering he's 24 years old and under contract for next year. There won't be a shortage of teams that could use a four-year pro who has made 42 career starts at cornerback.

Cam Robinson, OT

The Jaguars have two offensive tackles scheduled to be free agents after this season in Robinson and Walker Little. Robinson is a proven commodity with 91 career starts under his belt. The 29-year-old could be a short-term or long-term asset for interested suitors.

Azeez Ojulari, LB

Ojulari has filled in admirably for the injured Kayvon Thibodeaux, recording three sacks over his last two games. The Giants could sell high on the former second-round pick while his play is hot.

Jadeveon Clowney, LB

After an impressive 2023 campaign with the Ravens, Clowney hasn't been able to replicate the same success with the Panthers. The 31-year-old has just one sack through six games. But, now healthy, Carolina could look to move Clowney.

Josh Uche, LB

At 26, Uche is an attractive trade chip on a cheap contract. He's put up two sacks and 13 pressures through seven games, per PFF. Teams around the league should see a lot of upside in a player who compiled 11.5 sacks in 2022.

Darius Slayton, WR

Slayton hasn't reached his full ceiling in a Giants offense that's been inconsistent during his six-year tenure. But he's shown flashes of what he can do in the right situation. Just look at Slayton's Week 5 performance against the Seahawks when he caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown while filling in for Malik Nabers.

Rachaad White, RB

Bucky Irving has taken more carries than White this season. While White is still the official starter, the Buccaneers may be better off trading him and getting an extended look at Irving. White is only one season removed from recording 1,539 yards from scrimmage.

Miles Sanders, RB

The Panthers have a surplus of running backs, with Chuba Hubbard amid a terrific year and rookie Jonathon Brooks on the mend. That leaves Sanders the odd man out. There likely won't be much return for the 27-year-old. Still, it may be time for Carolina to cut its losses on the disappointing 2023 free-agent signee.

Walker Little, OT

Little started for the first time this year Sunday in addition to making 11 starts last season. Still only 25, Little might be worth more on the trade market than he is in Jacksonville.

Preston Smith, DE

Smith is playing just 56% of the Packers' defensive snaps this campaign, his lowest as a member of the team. Though Green Bay's 6-2 record won't make it a seller, trading the 31-year-old to give its younger players more opportunities could be worth exploring.

Emmanuel Ogbah, DE

Ogbah has notched two sacks and an interception this campaign. The veteran defensive end might be one of the players the Dolphins take calls on after falling to 2-5.

Adam Thielen, WR

The Panthers are reportedly taking calls on both their top receivers. Thielen is still nursing a hamstring injury, but he should be back soon. If he gets a clean bill of health, he can still provide a valuable veteran presence in the locker room while also being a quality possession receiver.

Kendrick Bourne, WR

Bourne signed a three-year deal with New England this past offseason, but it's hard to see how his timeline aligns with the franchise's vision. In a 2-6 season, the Patriots could move the veteran to give their young receivers a full audition.
