Colts' Moore says teammates aren't 'working as hard as possible'
Indianapolis Colts defensive back Kenny Moore isn't happy with the effort he saw from his teammates during Sunday's 30-20 home loss to the Buffalo Bills.
"I don't think everybody is working as hard as possible," Moore said postgame, according to Dominic Miranda of WTHR.com. "Obviously, it's showing. I'm not the type to sugarcoat it, honestly. I don't think the urgency is there. I don't think the details are there. I don't think the effort is there. And I don't see everything correlating from meetings to practice to the games."
Moore added: "We gotta look ourselves in the mirror and ask ourselves how bad we want it."
The Colts recorded 361 total yards and forced two turnovers against the Bills. However, Indianapolis allowed 415 yards while turning the ball over four times. The defeat marked Indy's third straight loss, dropping the team to 4-6.
The Colts entered Week 10 with 68 missed tackles this season, tied for the fourth most in the NFL, according to Football Reference.
"The thing that is frustrating is you're letting things leak into another week," Moore said.
He continued: "At the beginning of the season, we all said that Week 1 was going to be Week 1, that September was going to be September, but we gotta do our best to be better as the season progresses, and we aren't in November. I just don't see us making that jump from September to November."
Indianapolis currently has only a 23% chance of making the playoffs, according to The Athletic.
The AFC South club hasn't reached the postseason since the 2020 campaign.
"Year to year, it's the same thing," Moore added.
Moore has played his entire NFL career with the Colts, appearing in 111 games since joining the team as an undrafted rookie in 2017. The 29-year-old signed a new three-year, $30-million contract this past offseason.
