Report: Cowboys to meet OC Schottenheimer again for head coaching job
The Dallas Cowboys are planning to conduct a second interview with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer regarding their head coaching vacancy Wednesday, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Jane Slater.
The follow-up interview will take place after the two sides met for nearly four hours Tuesday.
Dallas has been searching for a head coach since parting ways with Mike McCarthy after his five-year contract expired at season's end.
The Cowboys have spoken with a few other candidates since moving on from McCarthy, including Robert Saleh, Leslie Frazier, and Kellen Moore.
The 51-year-old Schottenheimer has been part of the Cowboys' coaching staff for the past three seasons, serving as offensive coordinator since 2023. Schottenheimer boasts over two decades of experience as an assistant coach but has not served in a leading role. Brian is the son of legendary head coach Marty Schottenheimer.
Schottenheimer would provide some continuity for Dallas' offense, which will once again be centered around Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb next season.
