Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni had a lot to say about Jalen Hurts after the quarterback led Philly to its second Super Bowl appearance in three seasons.

Hurts accounted for four touchdowns in Sunday's 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders and completed 20 of 28 pass attempts for 246 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions. He also rushed for 16 yards and three TDs.

"It's amazing how much doubt there is sometimes," Sirianni said of Hurts postgame, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com. "I can't quite comprehend it because it doesn't look like people think it should look like. But the guy has been clutch, he's won a ton of football games. 'But you ran for this many yards.' We don't care how we win. We don't care.

"If we rush for 300 (yards) and pass for (100) and we win, great. If we rush for (100) and pass for 300, great. Who cares? We just continue to win. He's just continued to win."

One of the NFL's best rushing QBs, Hurts has been criticized for his passing limitations. Even Eagles receivers have voiced their frustration with Phiadelphia's passing game. However, Philly has built a powerhouse by surrounding Hurts with an elite duo of wideouts, a premier offensive line, and the sport's best running back in Saquon Barkley.

"I don't want anybody else leading this team at quarterback other than him. He's a winner. Again, he deals with so much criticism, which blows my mind," Sirianni added. "It'll be the same thing, 'He's got great players around him.' Well, you tell me one quarterback that's won like this that has shit around them. That don't happen.

"You don't win in this game unless you have great players around. You don't win consistently unless you have great players around you. Sometimes, I feel like it's a negative about him."

Hurts set a career high with a 68.7% completion rate in 2024 while accounting for 32 touchdowns (18 passing) against just five interceptions in 15 games. His average of 193.5 passing yards per game was his lowest single-season mark since he became Philadelphia's full-time starter in 2021.

"I don't play the game for stats. I don't play the game for numbers," Hurts said Sunday.

The Eagles are 45-17 with Hurts under center over the last four seasons, and he's now helped the franchise reach the Super Bowl twice with a 5-3 playoff record. Hurts' Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Big Game in 2023.
