Patrick Mahomes addressed the Kansas City Chiefs' latest Super Bowl run Thursday, praising his team's ability to win games on every side of the ball, not just offense.

"This team's been special because it's been everybody," Mahomes said, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher. "If you look at our entire season, it's like someone makes a big play at the biggest moment to go out there and win a football game, if that's offense, defense, or special teams. The fact that it's been everybody - it's not just offense, it's not just defense, it's everybody on the entire team, it is something I'll remember this season by and hopefully we can do it the right way and get this final win."

Mahomes does have a point. He led the NFL with seven game-winning drives in 2024, but Kansas City also saw its defense continue to make plays and special teams step up to help seal wins. In a November game against the Denver Broncos, for instance, K.C. held on for a 16-14 win after blocking Denver's potential game-winning field goal in the dying seconds.

In addition to the Mahomes-led offense and a strong defense, Chiefs special teams have also come up clutch in the playoffs, registering a 63-yard kickoff return in the divisional round and a 41-yard punt return in the AFC title game to help the team reach the Super Bowl for the fifth time in six years.

As back-to-back Super Bowl champions, the Chiefs are the team to beat. Some around the NFL have also criticized the refs, accusing them of favoring K.C. with questionable calls in deciding moments.

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid downplayed those narratives Thursday.

"I don't care," Reid said. "Honestly, I don't get into that. I don't use that with guys. I just want to make sure we get prepped."

A win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 9 would give the Chiefs the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat. Kansas City also defeated Philly in the big game two years ago.
