Philadelphia Eagles pass-rusher Josh Sweat is considering both compensation and team fit ahead of free agency after his dominant performance in Super Bowl LIX.

"Money's important, sure, but I want to be in the right situation," Sweat said, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. "I don't know what it looks like for me now, but I'm happy."

Sweat led a ferocious Eagles defense with 2.5 sacks against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Philadelphia shut out the Chiefs in the first half en route to the 40-22 beatdown to win the Lombardi Trophy.

"He was awesome," defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said of Sweat. "He's been awesome all year. ... A real warrior type of guy, and I really, really love him."

Sweat's career-best performance put him in the running for Super Bowl MVP, though the award ultimately went to Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

"I should've had it," Sweat said of the honor. "I could've had it. It's all good, though."

Sweat reportedly restructured his contract ahead of the 2024 season in order to stay with the Eagles, who had been fielding trade offers for the pass-rusher.

Philadelphia drafted Sweat in the fourth round in 2018 and signed him to a three-year, $40-million extension in 2021. He has 43 sacks across seven seasons, including eight this past campaign.

Sweat isn't the only notable Eagles defender set to hit free agency; Linebacker Zack Baun, defensive tackle Milton Williams, and defensive end Brandon Graham also finished their respective contracts this season.

Baun was a first-team All-Pro in 2024 and picked off Mahomes late in the first half Sunday to set up a touchdown. Williams sacked the Chiefs QB twice, while Graham just completed his 15th season with Philadelphia and may opt for retirement.
