Dolphins' Hill undergoes surgery to repair wrist ligament
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill underwent surgery to repair ligament damage in his wrist, head coach Mike McDaniel announced Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Hill will be out for most of the offseason as he recovers. McDaniel added that the plan is for Hill to resume catching drills near the start of training camp, per NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.
The eight-time Pro Bowler shared a video on social media earlier this week in which he appeared to have a cast on his left wrist. Hill battled a wrist injury for much of the 2024 season but appeared in all 17 games.
He recently expressed a desire to remain with Miami after previously suggesting he wanted to leave the team following the 2024 campaign. The 30-year-old apologized for his past comments, citing frustration with how the season went.
Hill had 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns this past campaign, his lowest marks since 2019. It also was the first season of Hill's career in which his team failed to make the playoffs, with the Dolphins finishing with an 8-9 record.
The five-time first-team All-Pro is set to race Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles sometime this spring or summer following years of the two debating who is faster.
