The Philadelphia Eagles are signing running back Saquon Barkley to a two-year extension, the team announced.

The pact is reportedly worth $41.2 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Barkley becomes the NFL's first tailback to earn over $20 million per season. The deal includes $36 million fully guaranteed at signing, and the Eagles star will have the opportunity to earn an additional $15 million in incentives.

The 28-year-old's new deal comes less than a year after he signed with the Eagles as a free agent. He'd spent the previous six seasons with the New York Giants.

Barkley will get a well-deserved raise after leading the league with 2,005 rushing yards while adding 13 touchdowns. He also hauled in 33 catches for 278 yards and three more scores en route to being named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year.

The Penn State product racked up 499 rushing yards and five TDs in four playoff contests, including a 205-yard, two-score effort in a divisional-round win against the Los Angeles Rams. Barkley's production was integral in the Eagles' postseason run, which ended in a Super Bowl LIX victory.

Barkley had two years remaining on the three-year, $37.75-million deal he signed with Philadelphia in March 2024. His new $20-million annual average surpasses Christian McCaffrey's yearly salary of $19 million.
