The New York Giants are signing free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Wilson's deal includes $10.5 million guaranteed.

The signal-caller had engaged in discussions with the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers prior to signing with the Giants, Schefter reports.

Wilson started 11 games for the Steelers in 2024. He threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions with a 63.7% completion percentage. He led Pittsburgh to a 6-5 record as a starter.

The eight-time Pro Bowler missed the first six games of the season due to a calf injury sustained in training camp. He ultimately replaced Justin Fields following Pittsburgh's win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 13.

The 36-year-old Wilson spent two seasons with the Denver Broncos prior to joining the Steelers as a free agent last year. He was unable to live up to expectations after signing a five-year, $242.6-million extension following his trade from the Seattle Seahawks.

Wilson spent the first 10 years of his career in Seattle and helped the club win Super Bowl XLVIII. He sits 17th on the NFL's all-time passing list with 46,135 yards and is 12th all time with 350 career passing touchdowns.

The Giants were among the clubs vying to sign four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, but they'll likely bow out of contention after adding Wilson.

New York lands its second veteran passer in as many weeks after agreeing to a two-year deal with Jameis Winston. Tommy DeVito is also under contract for 2025.
