Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford can't wait to play with new Los Angeles wide receiver Davante Adams.

"I have a ton of respect for him, the way he goes about his business and the way he plays the game," Stafford said Sunday, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. "He's been a big-time in this league for a long time, so happy to have him. I know he's going to be a big addition to our team."

The Rams signed Adams to a two-year, $46-million contract this offseason. The 32-year-old finished the 2024 campaign with the New York Jets, who released him after failing to find a trade partner. He faced L.A. in December, catching seven passes for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Adams and Stafford were once division rivals during the wideout's time with the Green Bay Packers and the passer's stint with the Detroit Lions. But now Adams is projected to be one of Stafford's main targets and replace 2021 Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp.

Los Angeles released Kupp this year after eight seasons, and the 31-year-old later signed a three-year, $45-million deal with the Seattle Seahawks to remain in the NFC West.

"A great teammate, a great Ram," Stafford said of Kupp. "Happy that he landed somewhere he wanted to be and got the deal he deserved.

"I'll still stay in touch with him like I always do, and I'll pull for him as long as we're not going against each other."

Kupp and Adams rank in the top 10 for touchdown receptions since 2021. Adams places third on the list with 41 TD catches, while Kupp is tied for fifth with 33 receiving scores in that span.
