Former Vikings C Matt Birk sheds weight, seeking modelling career
Former Minnesota Vikings center Matt Birk is shedding some serious weight and is in the running to be the next Vi model on the cover of The Challenge Magazine 2014.

Birk weighed in at 310 pounds for his final game with the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII in February and is now 75 pounds lighter eight months later.
"I never thought I would pose for a picture with my shirt off," Birk told BaltimoreRavens.com. "But I wanted to show people that it can be done and that we're all in this together...I lost all that weight, but I'm still slow as molasses. For some reason, my speed didn't go up."

The 37-year-old played for the Vikings for a decade from 1998-2008 before finishing his career with Baltimore.
