Russell Wilson doesn't plan to run often after setting Monday Night rushing record
Russell Wilson has quickly gained a reputation for being one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the NFL.
The Seahawks' quarterback had an excellent game Monday night in a 27-17 win over the Washington Redskins, rushing for 122 yards on 11 carries, and breaking the Monday Night Football record for rushing yards by a quarterback.
However, Wilson downplayed the importance of running after setting the milestone.
"I don’t think running for me is ever part of the game plan," Wilson told reporters during his post-game press conference.
Wilson also threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Seahawks to a 3-1 record.
It's important to note that the 25-year-old star ran for 536 yards last season on 5.6 yards per carry. Whether it's part of the game plan or not, Wilson has proved to be a prolific runner and few would expect him to stop now.
