The New England Patriots have signed wide receiver Matthew Slater to a two-year, $4 million contract extension, ESPN's Field Yates reports.
Now in his seventh year out of UCLA, Slater has appeared in a total of 98 games for the Patriots, long having proved himself to be a special teams ace.
The 29-year-old was scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency this spring, but the extension keeps him in New England through the 2016 season.
