Eagles release James Casey

The Philadelphia Eagles released tight end James Casey, the team announced Thursday.
Casey appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles in 2014, catching three passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns. He sat behind Brent Celek and Zach Ertz on the team's depth chart and most of his contributions came on special teams.
With a $4-million salary, Casey's release is a no-brainer for the Eagles. His special teams production can be replaced at a far cheaper price.
