Karlos Dansby is staying in the AFC North.

The Cincinnati Bengals are set to sign former Cleveland Browns linebacker on Tuesday, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, citing a source.

News of the agreement comes just minutes after a report from Geoff Hobson of the team's official website indicated that talks between the two sides had "heated up" following last week's visit.

Dansby, a 12-year veteran, hit the open market earlier this month when the Browns opted to part ways amid a mass organizational rebuild.

Having maintained a high level of production in recent years, the 34-year-old will now presumably compete for a starting job among a suddenly crowded group of Bengals linebackers.

Vontaze Burfict will have a lead role upon making his return from a three-game suspension, but Rey Maualuga, Vincent Rey, A.J. Hawk, and Paul Dawson will also be in the mix for snaps.

Dansby started all 16 games for the Browns in 2015, racking up 108 tackles, three interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns.
