Report: Chiefs signing former XFLer Jordan Ta'amu
From the rebooted XFL to the Super Bowl champions.
The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to terms with quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Ta'amu was one of the XFL's best quarterbacks during its inaugural campaign. He led the St. Louis BattleHawks to a 3-2 record before the league canceled its season amid the coronavirus crisis.
The 22-year-old Ole Miss product completed 72% of his throws for 1,050 yards and five touchdowns against two interceptions. He also led all signal-callers with 217 rushing yards.
Ta'amu went undrafted last year and briefly signed with the Houston Texans in August. He was released three weeks later.
He's the third former XFLer to have reportedly signed an NFL deal Monday after star quarterback P.J. Walker agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints added interception-leading cornerback, Deatrick Nichols.
The Chiefs also currently have Super Bowl LIV MVP Patrick Mahomes, veteran Chad Henne, and second-year pro Kyle Shurmur as quarterbacks on the roster.
