Alex Bregman had just delivered the biggest hit of his young career - a walk-off single in extra innings of Game 5 of the World Series - when shortstop Carlos Correa turned to his fellow Houston Astros phenom at the postgame presser.

"It's your time," Correa told Bregman. And he was right, as it appears the next great young third baseman has arrived in Major League Baseball.

The 23-year-old Bregman has starred both with his bat and glove this October, helping lead the Astros to within one win of their fist World Series title. Armed with the enormous talent and grit that made him the No. 2 selection of the 2015 draft, Bregman has already provided a number of signature postseason moments.

Here's a look at his biggest plays in the 2017 playoffs, through his eyes, and from the perspective of some of baseball's biggest names.

ALDS GAME 1

Bregman became the fourth Astros player to homer in his first career playoff game when he took Red Sox ace Chris Sale deep in his first at-bat.

Bregman: "It was a fun moment. You grow up as a little kid wanting to play in the postseason and we were facing a great pitcher, and just able to put a good swing on the ball and just try and set the tone and get us started." (via MLB.com)

ALDS GAME 4

Trailing the Red Sox 3-2 in the eighth inning of Game 4, Bregman launched another homer off Sale to tie the game 3-3. Houston would go on to win 5-4 and advance to the ALCS.

Josh Reddick: "Our dugout was pretty quiet for most of the game with Sale in there. For (Bregman) to pick us up right there, especially late, we knew they were riding him to the ninth until they had to get to Kimbrel." (via MLB.com)

Bregman: "When we were back home (Sale) started me off with a changeup and then he ended up striking me out my third at-bat when we were back home on a changeup. And I was looking for it the whole day. I got a little anxious my first at-bat and kind of came off it and popped it up to center, because I was so excited that I got it and I guessed right. I told myself that I would get it again, I just needed to stay close and stay on it and I was fortunate enough to put a good swing on it." (via ASAP Sport)

ALCS GAME 7

With the Astros leading the Yankees 1-0 in the fifth inning of Game 7, Bregman nailed Greg Bird at the plate to prevent the tying run from scoring. Houston would win the game 4-0.

Bregman: "I knew if it wasn't a missile, or a ball I could turn two on, I was going to the plate immediately. It was huge. It gave us some momentum." (via USA Today)

Brian McCann: "I have no idea how it stayed in my glove or how I caught it or how he put it right on the money. It was just perfect all the way around. It stayed in, Bregs put it right on the money, and I was able to hang on." (via MLB.com)

WORLD SERIES GAME 1

After Clayton Kershaw retired nine of the first ten batters he faced, Bregman led off the fourth inning with a solo homer against the three-time Cy Young winner.

Bregman: "I think that one change that I made this year, against left-handed pitching, I'm not trying to force the ball the other way, I'm not trying to guide it into the four-hole. And my whole life I always thought, a lefty is pitching me, I better hit the ball the other way in the four-hole. And this year I've actually just said, I'll hit the ball where it was pitched. If they throw me away, I'll try to go to right-center. If they throw me in, I'll try to go to left-center, and I think it's paid off." (via ASAP Sport)

WORLD SERIES GAME 4

Bregman once again nailed a runner at the plate, this time preventing Austin Barnes from giving the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in Game 4,

John Smoltz: "You see this play, the short hop and how he gets it. Right away, he comes home as there's no chance at turning two. That is not an easy hop. Head down, and once he gets the ball he knows he's got it with a good throw to McCann."

WORLD SERIES GAME 5

One night after taking Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen deep for a solo home run, Bregman hit his first career walk-off, delivering a 10th-inning single to cap the Astros' 13-12 win and give them a 3-2 World Series advantage.

Jansen: "Tried to go up and in and missed my spot, and he did a great job."

Bregman: "It's an unbelievable moment. To be living a dream, one win away from (winning) the World Series, is really special."

A.J. Hinch: "He is cool and calm and completely in control of himself in these moments. I don't care if he's been in the league one year or 10 years, he's demonstrating some very unique traits in the biggest moments." (via MLB.com)

David Ortiz: "He's a little stud. This guy is a giant on the field, he's playing unbelievable defense, and when he's at the plate there's no doubt that he's about to do something special." (via FOX Sports)
