Report: Warren returning to Yankees on minor-league deal
Free-agent reliever Adam Warren is returning to the New York Yankees on a minor-league contract that's worth $800,000 if he reaches the majors, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
The deal is for two years as Warren is rehabbing from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in September, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
The right-hander can earn an extra $100,000 for every five appearances made between 30 and 60, per Rosenthal.
Warren may be released if he isn't on the 26-man roster on Aug. 28, Rosenthal adds.
This will be Warren's third stint with the Yankees after spending parts of seven seasons with the club from 2012 to 2018.
The 32-year-old owns a career 3.53 ERA in 323 appearances split between the Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, and San Diego Padres.
