Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto isn't a fan of adding crowd noise to MLB ballparks with no spectators in attendance due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Am I comfortable with the crowd noise? I'm guessing someone not in uniform decided to put crowd noise up," Votto said Tuesday, according to John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

"I'd be astounded if somebody that is currently playing thinks that's a good idea," the 2010 NL MVP continued.

The league will give teams prerecorded noise to use during the regular season, according to Eno Sarris of The Athletic.

"It's going to take a really impressive feel by whoever's doing it," an anonymous baseball executive told Sarris. "If done well, it's going to be awesome. If done poorly, it's going to be awful."
