The Houston Astros activated star outfielder Kyle Tucker from the 60-day injured list, the club announced Friday.

The Astros also optioned first baseman Zach Dezenzo to Triple-A and designated left-hander Parker Mushinski for assignment in corresponding roster moves.

Tucker has been sidelined since early June after he fouled a ball off his shin in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 27-year-old said earlier this week that he was dealing with a small fracture in his shin after the team initially called the injury a contusion.

Tucker's return should provide a big boost to the AL West-leading Astros. He was enjoying a prolific offensive season before the injury, registering a .979 OPS with 19 home runs, 10 stolen bases, and 40 RBIs in 60 games.
