Robert wants to stay with White Sox: 'My mindset and desire is to be here'

Outfielder Luis Robert Jr. hasn't turned on the Chicago White Sox amidst the team's historically bad season.

"My mindset and desire is to be here," he said, according to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. "But if I'm not, I know I'm going to play baseball."

Robert, like many of his teammates in Chicago, is in the midst of a career-worst season. He's posted an uncharacteristic .220/.271/.390 slash line with just 14 home runs and 21 stolen bases.

The talented 26-year-old slugged 38 home runs across a career-high 145 games played to make his first All-Star team in 2023.

Robert, who's slated to earn just $55 million combined over the next three years of his contract, would certainly draw the interest of teams should he be made available via trade this offseason.

"I don't even think about it," Robert said. "Whatever will be, will be."
