Hernández apologizes for live TV F-bomb after Dodgers win

Los Angeles Dodgers super utility man Kiké Hernández apologized for using profanity on live television Friday moments after his club defeated the San Diego Padres to advance to the National League Championship Series.

"Last night, during my postgame interview, I was really fired up after an incredibly competitive series with the Padres," the Dodgers vet told MLB.com's Juan Toribio. "I said something in a way that I deeply regret.

"I used a word on live television I should not have. I apologize if I offended anyone."

Hernández, who delivered a solo home run in the second inning to open the scoring in L.A.'s 2-0 win in Game 5, spoke to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal amid the team's celebrations at Chavez Ravine.

When asked what made this year's squad different - the Dodgers last reached the NLCS in 2021 and had been bounced from the divisional series in the last two seasons - Hernandez paused, looked around, and confirmed they were live before issuing his response.

"The fact that we don't give a f---," he said. Rosenthal then thanked Hernández and ended the interview.

The 33-year-old Hernández appeared in three of the series' five games, during which he had three hits with two strikeouts in nine at-bats.

The Dodgers open the NLCS at home Sunday against the New York Mets.
