The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again primed to go big-game hunting in free agency.

Los Angeles is a potential favorite to sign Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames once the open market kicks off at the conclusion of the World Series, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and general manager Brandon Gomes are familiar with Adames, as all three were part of the Tampa Bay Rays organization, notes Heyman.

The 29-year-old star has reportedly been targeted in the past by the Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and San Francisco Giants.

Adames is coming off a career year in which he recorded 32 homers with 112 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, and a .794 OPS over 161 games for the NL Central-winning Brewers. He'll arguably be the second-best free agent available outside of New York Yankees superstar Juan Soto.

Tommy Edman, who was acquired at this year's trade deadline, is currently playing short for Los Angeles in the playoffs. He's also made a combined 381 starts between second base and the outfield during his six-year career.
