Kershaw to have foot, knee surgeries: 'A lot of stuff' needs fixing
Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw said he'll undergo surgeries Wednesday on his foot and knee, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Kershaw disclosed during Friday's championship parade that Dr. Kenneth Jung will work on his foot issues, which ended his season after exiting an Aug. 30 start due to discomfort in his left toe. He added that he's been dealing with a bone spur, ruptured plantar plate, and arthritis.
Meanwhile, Dr. Neal ElAttrache will do the knee procedure to repair the pitcher's meniscus.
"There's a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed," the 36-year-old three-time Cy Young winner said.
Kershaw doesn't have a timetable yet for a 2025 return. He logged a career-low 30 innings (seven starts) in 2024 after returning in late July from shoulder surgery.
The lifelong Dodgers ace has already said he plans to return to L.A. for an 18th season but has until Monday to exercise his $7.5-million option for next season.
"I'll be back, somehow," Kershaw said. "I don't care. I'll be back."
