The Cleveland Guardians and catcher Austin Hedges agreed to a one-year contract, the club announced Wednesday.

Hedges' deal is worth $4 million, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.

The 32-year-old will return to the Guardians to back up starting catcher Bo Naylor.

Hedges hit two homers with 15 RBIs and a .422 OPS across 66 games in 2024 for the AL Central-winning Guardians. However, he still provides value defensively, ranking in the 75th percentile in blocks above average and 82nd percentile in framing, according Baseball Savant.
