- Beyond the hype and hyperbole, July's featherweight title matchup between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor will be the the most important bout in the division's history. Sure, McGregor may not be as proven or qualified as Frankie Edgar, but the sheer entertainment value of the World Tour build-up has made UFC 189 a must see for fans who like it when people punch each other in the face in exchange for money.
- Speaking of Edgar, "The Answer" will put his title aspirations on hold against bantamweight stalwart Urijah Faber at UFC Fight Night 66 in Manila. A win over Faber, a former WEC featherweight champion, wouldn't necessarily do much for Edgar in the rankings, but he'll likely get a crack at the winner of Aldo-McGregor at some point in 2015.
- In a battle of vanquished title contenders, Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas will see who gets back in the championship hunt when the two meet on April 4. Lamas has racked up two straight victories since losing to Aldo, while Mendes gave Aldo the toughest bout of his career at UFC 179.
