- Return of the king. After sitting on the sidelines following an April hit-and-run arrest, Jon Jones was reinstated to the UFC's active roster. The pound-for-pound great will no doubt seek out pretender to the throne Daniel Cormier, who won the vacant title in Jones' absence.
- After sitting on the sidelines for nearly two years, Rashad Evans returned to the Octagon at UFC 192, losing a lopsided unanimous decision to Ryan Bader. In order to stay relevant, Evans is looking to face perennial division bridesmaid Alexander Gustafsson at some point in the future.
- Bader's victory over Evans gives him a five-fight winning streak, and if it weren't for the returning Jones, he'd likely have a title shot in his horizon. Instead, Bader may be looking at a date with the impossibly powerful Anthony Johnson.
- Glover Teixeira can make a case for the division's top five with a victory over one-dimensional wrestler Patrick Cummins at UFC Fight Night 77. Cummins' one dimension is good, though, so it won't necessarily be an easy out for the heavy-handed Brazilian.
