Heavyweight

• Fabricio Werdum upset the apple cart at UFC 188 in June, violently wresting the title away from longtime champion Cain Velasquez in a master class of MMA. The two will likely do it all over again in the opening months of 2016.
• After pulling out of a bout with Ben Rothwell in October, Stipe Miocic - still recovering from a back injury - was strangely rewarded with a title eliminator against Andrei Arlovski in the co-main event at UFC 195 in January.
• A disappointed Rothwell now finds himself without a highly ranked dance partner. With most of the division's top 10 otherwise occupied, Rothwell sees Frank Mir and Josh Barnett as possible opponents going forward.
