  • Is Holly Holm the true test Ronda Rousey has been waiting for? Short answer: no. Long answer: nooooooooooooooooooo. It's unlikely that Holm will pose much of a challenge for Rousey at UFC 193 in November. Still, at least she's a credible opponent with the kind of boxing that could briefly give Rousey pause. Very, very briefly.
  • Miesha Tate is at a career crossroads. Following a dominant victory over Jessica Eye in July, UFC president Dana White promised Tate a trilogy bout against Rousey, only to pull it away and give it to Holm instead. Completely disenfranchised by the UFC's modus operandi, Tate has even hinted at a potential retirement.
  • Although she's firmly entrenched in the top 10, Alexis Davis is taking an indefinite leave of absence after announcing her pregnancy in August.
  • With consecutive stoppage victories over Shayna Baszler and Sara McMann, Amanda Nunes could find herself right in the thick of the title picture with another big win. Rumors swirled about Nunes facing off with Tate at some point in late 2015, but that bout never materialized.
