Although New York Knicks president Steve Mills stated, just a few days ago, that improving the team internally was of higher importance than making a splash in free agency in 2019, the club is indeed all-in on signing the crown jewel of this summer's class, Kevin Durant, according to The Athletic's Frank Isola.
Isola noted that numerous NBA executives believe that the Knicks are the consensus pick to land Durant this offseason.
"Everyone says Knicks," a prominent player agent said.
Durant is expected to decline his $31.5-million player option for next season to become a free agent.
The nine-time All-Star is averaging 29.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.1 assists through 34 games this season.
