Bills sign former Arena League star Jake Metz

The Buffalo Bills have signed free-agent defensive end Jake Metz, formerly of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul, his agent announced.

In 2016, Metz was named the AFL's Defensive Lineman of the Year after leading the league in sacks with eight and ranking second in tackles for loss with seven across 16 games for the Soul.

Metz signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in late August 2016, but was cut days later. He spent last season with the Qingdao Clipper of the China Arena Football League.
