Bucs rout Chiefs in Super Bowl LV as Brady collects 7th title

Tom Brady has done it again.

The legendary quarterback collected his seventh Super Bowl title as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 on Sunday night.

Brady completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 201 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Rob Gronkowski. The star tight end also racked up 67 yards on six receptions.

The 43-year-old Brady, who landed in Tampa Bay in the offseason following a remarkable run with the New England Patriots, was named Super Bowl MVP for the fifth time after leading the Buccaneers to their second title and first since the 2002 season.

Playing on their home turf, the Buccaneers controlled the game on both sides of the ball from the first quarter, keeping the Chiefs' high-powered offense out of the end zone and holding Kansas City to a season low in points.

Tampa Bay took advantage of Kansas City's shorthanded offensive line, which was without left tackle Eric Fisher for the first time in the postseason. The Bucs sacked Patrick Mahomes three times and recorded eight quarterback hits.

Mahomes finished the night with 270 yards and two interceptions on 26-for-49 passing.

It was a rough night for Kansas City's receivers, who had multiple drops in the end zone. Tight end Travis Kelce led the team in receiving with 10 catches and 133 yards, but most of his production came when the Chiefs were well behind.

On the other side, wide receiver Antonio Brown scored a touchdown for the Buccaneers, while Leonard Fournette carried the load at running back with 136 scrimmage yards and one score.

Linebacker Devin White led Tampa Bay's defense with a magnificent performance, racking up 12 tackles, one pass breakup, and one interception.

Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (1.5 sacks) and rookie safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (one interception) also enjoyed strong outings for the Bucs.

With the win, 68-year-old Bruce Arians became the oldest head coach to clinch a Super Bowl title.
