Testing on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold revealed a bone bruise with no structural damage, head coach Kevin O'Connell announced Monday.

"Really good news, positive news," O'Connell told reporters. "Extensive evaluations this morning really just revealing a knee bruise in there. A little sore, but hoping Sam can have a normal week of preparation."

Darnold isn't expected to miss any time, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The Vikings quarterback briefly exited Sunday's win against the Houston Texans to get his left knee checked out but quickly returned.

Darnold's breakout through three games has been a hot topic around the NFL amid the Vikings' undefeated 3-0 start. The 27-year-old tied a personal best with four touchdown passes and no interceptions in Sunday's blowout 34-7 win over the Texans.

The seventh-year veteran leads the NFL in touchdown passes (eight). He's completed 67.9% of his passes, which would also rank as a career high, and thrown only two interceptions.

Minnesota takes to the road in Week 4 for a matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay has started Malik Willis at quarterback the last two games, though Jordan Love has been working toward a return.
