By the numbers: Chiefs in trouble after awful 1st half in Super Bowl LIX
The Kansas City Chiefs had arguably their worst first half under head coach Andy Reid to go down 24-0 in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Patrick Mahomes completed just 6 of 14 pass attempts for 33 yards through the air with no touchdowns and two interceptions, including a pick-6. He was also sacked three times.
Here are other brutal numbers from the Chiefs' awful first half in the Big Game:
1 - Kansas City's trio of Travis Kelce, DeAndre Hopkins, and Xavier Worthy combined for one receiving yard in the first half against Philadelphia. One was also the number of first downs Reid's outfit recorded.
3 - The total rushing yards gained by K.C. in the Super Bowl's first 30 minutes.
5 - The Chiefs didn't score any points in their first five drives for only the fourth time with Mahomes under center.
10.7 - Mahomes' first-half passer rating Sunday, the lowest in any half of his career. Oh, and the superstar signal-caller also had his worst EPA/dropback in a half since entering the NFL.
23 - The Chiefs had only 23 net yards in the first two quarters, less than Philly's total score.
24 - The Eagles' 24-0 advantage marked the second-largest halftime lead in Super Bowl history.
47.1 - Mahomes was pressured on 47.1% of his dropbacks in the first half, which was higher than his completion percentage (42.9%).
297 - The number of consecutive pass attempts without an interception thrown by Mahomes before his pick-6 to Cooper DeJean in the second quarter.
