Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has refuted a rumor linking him with a potential move to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I'd have to be on board with it - which I'm not," Lawrence said on the "Up & Adams Show." "I'm happy here in Jacksonville. ... We want to win a Super Bowl here, and I think we can do that. And I don't want to leave Jacksonville. ... I'm not going to Pittsburgh."

The rumor suggested the quarterback-needy Steelers inquired about trading for Lawrence. But Lawrence has a no-trade clause, and a Jaguars source told ESPN's Michael DiRocco that the idea was "ridiculous" and had "no chance."

Regardless, the rumor caught Lawrence by surprise.

"My agent texted me and was like ... 'Hey, this is a report that's out there. I don't think there's anything to it, but I'll check into it,'" Lawrence said on the "Up & Adams Show." "So I saw it, and it's funny though, when he sent it to me, I wouldn't say your heart drops, but you're kind of like, 'What?'

However, Lawrence said new head coach Liam Coen confirmed the franchise didn't open negotiations with the Steelers.

Lawrence signed a five-year, $275-million extension with the Jaguars last offseason. He threw for 2,045 yards with 11 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 10 starts this past campaign. The 25-year-old passer finished the year on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury and subsequently underwent surgery.

Jacksonville finished the 2024 season 4-13. The Jaguars own the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
