Hunter: Playing 2-way in football more difficult than Ohtani's feats
Top NFL prospect Travis Hunter believes playing both ways in football is more difficult than Shohei Ohtani's ability to hit and pitch in baseball.
"Probably me and what I do in football because it's on a lot on your body," Hunter said Friday, according to USA Today's Nick Brinkerhoff. "Ohtani, he's a great player, but you gotta do a lot in football."
Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy after starring as a wide receiver and cornerback at the University of Colorado. The 21-year-old is expected to be a top pick at the NFL draft in April.
Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a receiver for the Buffaloes in 2024. He also chipped in 35 tackles, four interceptions, and 11 defended passes as a cornerback.
Ohtani is a three-time MVP and helped the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series last season.
The 30-year-old became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in the same season in 2024. Ohtani also owns a 38-19 record with a 3.01 ERA in 86 career starts as a pitcher.
