The Detroit Lions are re-signing edge rusher Marcus Davenport to a one-year deal worth up to $4.75 million, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Davenport appeared in just two games last season because of an elbow injury. He compiled four quarterback hits and a half-sack in that time.
The 28-year-old was slated to hit free agency before inking his new pact. The Lions had signed Davenport to a one-year deal worth $6.5 million last offseason.
A first-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2018, he spent his first five NFL seasons there before joining the Minnesota Vikings for a one-year stay in 2023. Davenport's best campaign was 2021 when he notched nine sacks.
The veteran pass-rusher has compiled three sacks over the past three seasons.
