The Washington Commanders are re-signing tight end Zach Ertz to a one-year, $6.25-million deal ahead of free agency, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

His contract can be worth up to $9 million with incentives, Pelissero adds.

Ertz signed a one-year deal with Washington last offseason and developed into a trustworthy target for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. The 34-year-old tight end ranked second in receptions (66), receiving yards (654), and touchdowns (7) among Commanders pass-catchers.

His 2024 season was the first time he eclipsed 600-plus receiving yards since 2021, while his seven scores were his highest total since 2018.

A three-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl champion, Ertz has caught 775 passes for 8,088 yards and 53 touchdowns since being drafted in the second round in 2013 by the Philadelphia Eagles.
