- Henry Cejudo's climb continues. Facing the toughest test of his career against the highly ranked Jussier "Formiga" da Silva at the UFC's latest foray into Mexico, the former Olympian emerged victorious, likely booking a future bout with division overlord Demetrious Johnson.
- After two failed attempts at dethroning Johnson, John Dodson is considering a move up to bantamweight. It may not be a bad move for "The Magician," as he owns a knockout victory over 135-pound champion T.J. Dillashaw.
- Joseph Benavidez continued his run as the best 125-pounder on the planet not nicknamed "Mighty Mouse" when he outworked the returning Ali Bagautinov in October. Unfortunately for Benavidez, his two losses to Johnson likely keeps him out of the title picture altogether.
