- Joanna Jedrzejczyk's reign continues. It wasn't an utter destruction, but "Joanna Champion" easily picked Valerie Letourneau apart over 25 minutes to retain her title at UFC 193. Claudia Gadelha will likely be Jedrzejczyk's next challenger at some point in early 2016, although the Polish woodchipper will need to heal her broken hand first.
- Gadelha aside, Paige VanZant versus Rose Namajunas in the main event of UFC Fight Night 80 could very well decide the next No. 1 contender.
- Former KSW standout Karolina Kowalkiewicz is set to make her Octagon debut against Randa Markos at UFC on FOX 17 on Dec. 19. The 30-year-old Kowalkiewicz is undefeated during her three-year career.
- Michelle Waterson was the first (and hopefully only) injury casualty to plague UFC 194. A knee ailment forced Waterson out of a bout against "The Tiny Tornado," Tecia Torres. Torres will now square off with UFC newcomer Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger at the Dec. 12 event.
