Tests confirmed that Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta is dealing with a low ankle sprain, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

LaPorta was in and out of the Lions' lineup with the ailment during the team's 20-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. He was on the field for 63% of the team's offensive snaps, his second-lowest snap share in 20 regular-season contests.

The 23-year-old is more likely to be available for the team's Week 4 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football after avoiding a high ankle injury.

LaPorta has been less involved in Detroit's passing attack to start the season when compared to his 2023 rookie campaign, tallying just 94 yards on eight receptions.

The Iowa product was named a second-team All-Pro and earned Pro Bowl honors after being selected in the second round of the 2023 draft. He finished last campaign with 889 yards and 10 touchdowns on 86 receptions.
