The Dallas Cowboys ruled out linebacker Micah Parsons for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an ankle injury, the team announced.

Parsons didn't practice this week after getting hurt in last week's win over the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said earlier this week that his team was preparing to face the Steelers without Parsons, but the All-Pro defender said he was going to try to play through the injury.

Parsons has led Dallas in sacks in each of the last three seasons.

DeMarcus Lawrence tops the team in that category in 2024, but he'll also miss Week 5 with a foot injury that recently landed him on injured reserve. With Parsons and Lawrence sidelined, rookie defensive end Marshawn Kneeland is expected to receive more snaps versus Pittsburgh. Dallas also rosters pass-rushers Chauncey Golston, KJ Henry, and Carl Lawson, who's currently on the practice squad but played in Week 4.

The Cowboys may also play Week 5 without a cornerstone of their secondary: Cornerback Trevon Diggs is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Diggs was a limited participant at practice Thursday but missed Friday's session.
