Carolina Panthers fans took a collective gulp Sunday when Cam Newton was crunched by a New York Giants defensive lineman and came up grabbing his chest:

Newton jogged off the field and the Panthers punted, but the MVP candidate returned to the game for the Panthers' next offensive series.

And the entire Panthers fan base exhaled.
