Apple developing series inspired by Durant's life
Apple will delve into the early life of Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant as part of a new scripted series.
Inspired by Durant's experiences in youth basketball, "Swagger" will explore "the lives of the players, their families, and coaches" in the Amateur Athletic Union, according to Variety's Joe Otterson.
Imagine Television and Durant's Thirty Five Media will produce the project. Reggie Rock Bythewood, who created the FOX drama series "Shots Fired" and co-wrote the screenplay for the 2009 Notorious B.I.G. biopic "Notorious," will write and direct.
"I've lived and breathed basketball since I was a kid, and the idea for the show draws not just from my knowledge of that world, but the unique personalities involved and the drive that makes young players' stories so compelling," Durant said in a press release, according to Tech Crunch's Brian Heater.
