Bucs' Arians would be 'shocked' if Evans returns this season
Mike Evans' season is likely done.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver left Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts after picking up a hamstring injury, and head coach Bruce Arians doesn't believe he'll play again in 2019.
"It's not good," Arians said after the game, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. "I'll be shocked if Mike makes it back before the last week."
Evans picked up the injury while running in a 61-yard touchdown. He limped into the end zone and headed right for the locker room.
The 26-year-old had been enjoying another monster season. In 13 games, he's recorded 67 catches for 1,157 yards and eight touchdowns.
Evans has also topped 1,000 yards in each of his six professional campaigns. He and Hall of Famer Randy Moss are the only wideouts in NFL history to accomplish the feat in their first six years.
