Report: Texans' Cushing out 6 weeks with torn MCL
Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports
Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing will miss six weeks of action after suffering a torn MCL in Sunday's season-opening game against the Chicago Bears, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Cushing was carted off with the injury in the first quarter of play and initially ruled questionable before the Saints announced that he would not return.
Max Bullough will see work with the first-team defense alongside fellow inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney until Cushing is able to make his return.
Bullough, a former undrafted free-agent addition, recorded 30 tackles across 13 games and one start with the Texans in 2015.
