Mayfield active for wild-card clash vs. Eagles
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is active for Monday's wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced.
Mayfield was originally listed as questionable after being a limited participant at practice Friday and Saturday due to ankle and rib injuries.
The 28-year-old injured his rib weeks ago but has yet to miss time this season. Tampa Bay added his ankle ailment to the injury report following a Week 18 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Mayfield, who played for three different teams in 2021 and 2022, revived his career in 2023 after joining the Buccaneers as a free agent. He completed 64.3% of his passes this past regular season while tossing career highs with 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns against 10 interceptions.
Monday's clash will be the third playoff start for the former No. 1 overall pick, who's 1-1 in his career in the postseason.
